The decision
A topic cluster works when a hub helps someone choose a path and each supporting page resolves a distinct task. Page count alone is not a strategy. Start with the user’s sequence of decisions, then make pages for the points that deserve their own explanation, example, or tool.
A worked example
An AI product path can move from identifying a recurring problem to interviews, a manual test, a one-page scope, evaluation, and delivery. Each page has a different outcome. Six pages that merely rephrase “best AI SaaS ideas” would compete with one another and offer little additional value.
How to put it into practice
- Map the decisions a reader must make before creating keyword variants.
- Give each page a distinct promise and a worked example that fulfills it.
- Link the hub to every supporting guide and include sensible next steps between guides.
- Connect content to a free tool or sample when that helps the task, then offer the paid product where relevant.
A failure to plan for
Bulk AI generation can create repetition, unsupported claims, and stale technical advice. Review examples, eliminate redundant pages, cite primary documentation, and update content when behavior changes.
Try it on your project
Write a six-page path with one sentence describing the outcome of each page. If two outcomes are essentially identical, combine them. Identify one original worksheet, tool, or comparison that makes the path more useful.
